Design Chain Associates, LLC (DCA) respects the privacy and security of our website visitors, clients, and partners. DCA collects certain information from and about its users in three ways —directly from the user, from our Web server logs, and with cookies.
User-Supplied Information: We collect only personally identifiable information that is specifically and voluntarily provided by visitors to DCA's web site. DCA receives limited identifiable information, such as name, title, company address, email address, and telephone and fax numbers, from web site visitors. Typically, identifying information is collected to:
• Register for certain areas of the site
• Inquire for further information
• Distribute requested reference materials, or
• Submit resumes.
Server Log Information: When you visit an Internet Web site, you disclose certain information about yourself, such as your Internet [Protocol] (IP) address, the time of your visit, and the referring location (e.g., the Site or page that offered a link to a DCA page). DCA, like many other sites, records this basic information about visits to its site. We can and will use IP addresses to identify a user when we feel it is necessary to enforce compliance with our terms of use of the website or to protect our service, site, clients, or others.
Cookies: For certain pages and functions, DCA may use cookies to store and help track your information.
Cookies are simply pieces of information that are sent to your browser from a Web server and stored on your computer's hard drive. The use of cookies is relatively standard and you will likely find them used on most other Web sites. Most browsers are initially set up to accept cookies. If you prefer, you can reset your browser either to notify you when you receive a cookie, or to refuse to accept cookies. Understand that certain areas of many sites may not function properly if you set your browser to not accept cookies or if you reject a cookie.
Whenever you voluntarily disclose personal information online, such as on message boards, through e-mail, discussion groups, or in chat areas, your information can be collected and used by others. Although DCA takes many steps to protect your personal information (see below), DCA cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us, and you do so at your own risk.
We use information in different ways, depending on the type of information:
User-supplied information: This information is used for purposes such as mailing lists and responding to inquiries. Should a visitor subsequently choose to unsubscribe from mailing lists or any registrations, we will provide instructions on the appropriate Web site area or in communications to our visitors; or a visitor may contact us at info@designchainassociates.com.
Web Server Logs: This information helps us identify which areas of our site are of interest to our visitors. DCA also collects the Internet [Protocol] (IP) addresses and/or domain names of its visitors for the purposes of system administration and to analyze effectiveness of marketing campaigns. Actual logs are expunged periodically, although aggregated statistical information is kept indefinitely.
Cookies: Cookies are used solely by software we incorporate into the site (such as the polling software, which uses them to determine if you've already responded to a specific poll). They are not explicitly or manually identified, tracked, or managed by us.
Information collected through the site is used only for the intended purpose stated at the time that the information is collected. This data is not shared with a third party, unless otherwise disclosed at the point of collection. If there is an instance where such information may be shared, the visitor will be asked for permission beforehand.
DCA will not willfully disclose any individually identifiable information about its users to any third party without first receiving that user's permission. DCA may disclose personal information when we believe in good faith that the law requires it or to protect the rights or property of DCA. DCA does not collect or compile personally identifying information for dissemination or sale to outside parties for consumer marketing purposes, or host mailings on behalf of third parties.
When you are at the DCA site and are asked for personal information, you share that information with DCA alone.
There are several places throughout the DCA website that may link to other web sites that do not operate under DCA's privacy practices. When you link to other sites, DCA's privacy practices no onger apply. We encourage visitors to review each site's privacy policy before disclosing any personally identifiable information.
Technology security: DCA has implemented generally accepted standards of technology and operational security in order to protect personally identifiable information from loss, misuse, alteration or destruction, including firewalls, passwords, encryption. All DCA partners and employees follow a firm-wide security policy. Authorized DCA personnel have agreed to ensure confidentiality of this information and are provided access to personally identifiable information.
DCA reserves the right to modify or amend this policy at any time. The effective date will be displayed at the beginning of this statement.
